A fine example of a doorway from an aristocratic Haveli with peacock carvings to the centre of the lintel. The doorway dates from the 18th century and is made from beautiful golden colour acacia wood. This mirror is made from the inner section of the doorway, with the outer section made into a mirror, see catalogue number S11/170. It is from the Jaisalmer area of western Rajasthan, the location of the oldest fort in the world with an indigineous population.
